More about... me
I remember the art class at my school — the nicest room in the building, large and well‑equipped, with a podium in the middle that let us pose and copy life models (objects or bodies). I remember how the teacher used to put on music while we were given the time to do the art exercises. Nice memories from many years ago... I now realise how fortunate I was, not only to have a proper space and atmosphere to learn and practice, but also to have had two art teachers who were passionate, patient, humble... They had a collection of precious human qualities.

Painting has always given me pleasure. Just the idea of mixing colours thrills me. I prefer colour over line, texture over form, the evocation of a moment or a feeling over the exact figuration of reality... the practice over the theory.

Surrounded by a family of musicians, I also followed the path to the conservatory. I've never stopped playing piano and bassoon, the two instruments that have accompanied me every day since I was a child.
I often compare painting and music in my head. They are similar in that they are both beautiful but...how different they are in terms of sensation! exposure! time constraint!

Anyway, a common thing between painting and music is that they both connect the artist with the public, and this connection is not static. It evolves and may feel different over time. Although a piece of music remains (if it is recorded) or a painting stays on a wall for years, the feelings they evoke differ according to the state of mind of the person who looks at or listens to them — even if that person is the same over time.

Art in general, and music and painting especially, allow us to stop sensing the world in a hasty and cold way, and gives us the opportunity to sense differently, to open ourselves to new points of view, to elevate our existence, to dream.

I hope you enjoy my paintings and that they bring you to your own dreams!
